Works near completion at Wertheim Laboratory in Gainesville, FL. USA.
Levolux were engaged at an early stage by design architects Grimshaw to help create a unique visual at Wertheim Laboratory that incorporates the Levolux Infiniti system.
Infiniti offers the impression of “floating” fins across the façade seamlessly which is achieved by its patented connection to the vertical support mullion. The system allows the fins to cantilever each end, as well as engineered to project out of the curtain wall system.
In collaboration with Grimshaw and our install partners, AAT, Levolux created a custom 12” teardrop-shaped extrusion that has been finished in an anodized deep blue color. The fins are set at differing angles down the façade to maximize sun shading, whilst still providing enough natural light to the state-of-the-art Wertheim Laboratory.
“The Levolux Infiniti system was a beautiful complement to our T-850 Unitized Curtain Wall system. The system integrated seamlessly, was a “Brise” to install and an elegant solution for this functional design. We look forward to future collaborations with this outstanding manufacturer and partner”
