University of Glasgow

The Learning Hub building, completed last year, is a landmark development in Glasgow’s West End and forms part of the university’s £1 billion redevelopment. It opened in April 2021 and provides a state-of-the-art teaching facility for more than 2,500 students. It is the first building to be delivered through the Campus Development Programme.

After early involvement with one of Levolux’s long standing customers, Charles Henshaw & Sons Ltd, Levolux provided the spectacular external Infiniti© Solar Shading system.

The solution featured 4m vertical, rectangular, perforated, aluminium Infiniti© fins with a striking red anodised finish to provide a stunning aesthetic.

The project has also been recognised with numerous awards:

  • The Scottish Property Awards Finalists have been announced and HLM Architects have made the list for the Architectural Excellence Award (Public Use).
  • Winner of the ‘Education Award’ at the Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA) Awards
  • ‘Project of the Year’, Pupil/Student Experience Award
  • ‘Highly commended’ in the Inspiring Learning Spaces category at the Learning Places Scotland Awards 2021.

Levolux are delighted to have played a part in the project delivery and we must congratulate Charles Henshaw & Sons Ltd, Multiplex, HLM Architects and all involved on this inspirational project, the result is stunning.
