Levolux returned to the Forbury Place office development in Reading to design, supply and install an almost identical solar shading and screening solution as that installed at One Forbury Place.

Levolux also designed another series of vertically-arranged Infiniti fins that were applied to east and west-facing elevations. Here, 550 x 50 mm rectangular-shaped fins extend as much as 33 m from ground to roof level. The upper and lower portion of some fins are twisted to provide a unique and contemporary aesthetic. The arrangement of twists creates a ‘ripple’ or ‘wave’ effect, which radiates out diagonally across the building.
The Infiniti fins are secured back to the curtain walling system using Levolux’s Triniti® bracket. The high-performance curtain walling bracket, with stainless steel fixings and a patented thermal break, provides excellent structural integrity whilst minimising cold bridging and noise transmission through the building envelope.
The Infiniti Secret-fix Aluminium Box fins were finished with an attractive grey matt polyester powder coating, while vertical fins are finished in two contrasting colours: a light grey finish on one side is complemented by bronze on the other side and on both edges. The two colours become visible where fins are twisted.
Levolux also supplied and installed its Ligniti XL screening louvres to obscure the view of unsightly plant and equipment at roof level. Here, continuous louvred screens standing 3 metres high extend along a length of more than 47 metres. Two single louvred doors and a louvred double gate were integrated into the screening solutions for both buildings. The roof screening louvres are finished in dark grey gloss powder coating, for long-lasting good looks.
