Via early design involvement with Associated Architects, Levolux focused on the design and specification whereby vertical fins provided efficient solar shading as well as fitting in with the overall aesthetic of the façade. The design brief called for the fins to look one piece over the height of the façade, which could be achieved using the signature Levolux Infiniti® solar shading system.
Levolux provided the 300mm Infiniti® box fin, Triniti® bracket and galvanised steel first fix brackets to structure. The 920/400 series two-piece extrusion was held together with a T-shape carrier arm as the architect didn’t want to see any horizontal lines across the cladding element of the façade. Levolux overcame this by using carriers in line with transoms on the curtain wall areas and then individual brackets in front of cladding elements to remove the need for a horizontal carrier. The fins were set at a fixed vertical angle and finished in a polyester powder coated matt finish.
Levolux provided the installation to ISG as specialist sub-contractor and completed the project in September 2020.
