Levolux Specialist Venetian Blinds are hand-built to accommodate non-standard slats at increased widths, ranging from 50mm up to 100mm, and beyond. The wider slat sizes available with Specialist Venetian Blinds, compared to standard internal Venetian Blinds, allows better outward visibility, while affording the same control of daylight and glare levels. Levolux Specialist Venetian Blinds are available for internal and external applications, with a choice of manual or motorised controls for optimum performance. When applied externally, Venetian Blinds provide effective control of solar heat gain and can help to insulate a building at night, making them popular for Passivhaus developments.

System Construction
All components are subject to rigid quality standards and are designed to produce a high performance product with an aesthetically pleasing finish. The main components of the Levolux Specialist Venetian Blind are:

  • Headrail – Stove enamelled steel, or aluminium options are available in a range of colours. All the operating mechanisms are neatly contained in this U-shaped headrail.
  • Headbox – For external applications, slats are retracted into an aluminium headbox for protection against the elements.
  • Bottomrail – Stove enamelled steel or aluminium options are available in a range of colours.
  • Aluminium Slats – Heat treated and double stove enamelled to provide resistance to surface abrasion. Solid (crowned or roll formed) or perforated slats are available in a wide range of colours and finishes. Ladder and lift tapes are available in colours to co-ordinate with the headrail, bottomrail and slats, as required.
  • Side Guides – For external use, a range of side guides is available to help maintain alignment of the slats as they are exposed to the elements.
  • Blind Controls – Manual or motorised controls are available to allow the blinds to tilt, raise and lower or tilt only. Bespoke control options, including fully automated and programmable systems that can interface with a Building Management System (BMS), are also available.
